This unique, utterly captivating illustration style was created by English author/ artist Chloe Preston in the Edwardian era. Preston is particularly noted for her extensive catalog of children's' books and postcards. Although the work has been often reproduced in modern and contemporary times, these specific prints are documented on the backs as having been printed around 1900, in London. Both 16x 16 1/2 prints are professionally framed in deeply gilded wood bordered with a burgundy stripe. They are matted in ivory.

With a tasteful green border. Secure hanging wires are attached. Prints and frames are in excellent to very good antique condition, with some expected dings on the framing, as shown.

I find a tiny tear in one corner of one print, which is also documented in the photos.
