RARE 19th Century IRON/WOOD PA GERMAN SIGNED/DATED/DECORATED MATCHED PAIR COARSE & FINE FLAX HATCHELS or HETCHELS. A RARE matched pair of early PA German flax hatchels or hetchels in EXCELLENT antique condition. Both hatches are signed "A R", dated "1827", and punch decorated including a "HORSE" on one and a "BIRD" looks ike a duck?

The pair consists of a fine (more spikes spaced closer) and coarse (few spikes spaced further apart). All of the hand forged spikes are intact and in great shape. They measure approximately 12" long, 3 3/8 wide and 4" tall to top of spikes.
