John Hamyson was a commercial illustrator known for historical accuracy and wad promoted in the US by the reproduction company Aaron Ashley. He worked with watercolor and was known for lively scenes showing daily life. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1902 studied there at at the Vienna Academy of Fine Art.
