Pair of Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma 7 Cobalt Pottery Vases - Signed. A stunning pair of Japanese Meiji period satsuma pottery vases of square form on a cobalt blue ground with hand-painted panels depicting Japanese life, including Geisha women with children, flowers, trees and mountains, with enameled gilt embellishments on the top and body, base is signed in gold. Meaures 6.5" high x 1.75" at rim x 2 at the base. The vases are in Very Good condition, but have some gilt wear commensurate with age.

A fine addition to any home or collection! There is a very small crack at the mouth of one of the vases, You have to observe the vase carefully in order to see it.

The small crack is pictured in the photos. It doesn't affect the artistic beauty of the vase.

The other vase has a small nick or fleabite in the edge of the base. Otherwise, the vases are quite a treasure. All items come from a smoke free home.
