Pair of Fine Antique American Pewter Whale Oil Lamps, James Putnam, Malden, MA. This is a beautiful pair of pewter oil lamps. The beautiful lamps have great turnings with acorn shaped fonts, and original double burner whale oil burners. This attractive pair of lamps are marked on the underside of the base, "PUTNAM". This is the mark of James Putnam who worked out of Malden, Massachusetts during the 1830's.

DIMENSIONS: Both pewter whale oil lamps measure approxiamtely 7 3/4 H. (top of burners), 7 1/4 H. (top of lamp) x 2 1/4 Dia.

At the top of the font and 3 3/4 Dia. CONDITION: The condition is very good with some minor denting, wear and scratching to the finish. One lamp has a hole punctured on the underside of the base right where the mark is pressed.

The piece of metal appears to be inside the foot of the lamp as it jingles when shaken. One burner is also a little bent at the burners. Both pewter whale oil lamps measure approxiamtely 7 3/4 H. Condition is very good with some minor denting, wear and scratching to the finish.
