Pair of Antique Nature Morte Oil Paintings Signed Salvador Pla Dated 1880

  

A classically painted and framed pair of Nature Mortes by Spanish artist Salvador Pla b. Both paintings were done on gessoed wood panels, still retaining their original gold frames. The first painting depicts a heron, European Goldfinch, and what appears to be a European Robin. This painting has been freshly cleaned and has no losses nor inpaint. The second painting pictured depicts a Bobwhite, European Goldfinch, and a Snipe.

Pla 1880 in lower right corner of both paintings. Medium: oil paint on wood gessoed panel. Size of supports: 11" x 15 1/2" Outside size of frame: 19 1/2" x 24". Condition: Both paintings are freshly cleaned with a new varnish applied. The painting with the heron has no losses no inpaint, the painting with the Bobwhite has a small loss with inpaint in the center. The frames have age related losses that have been filled and inpainted.
