Their stay ended just a couple of years into the 1900's. These vases are in great shape overall, with the crackles being clear and clean, the dragons and other decorations are tightly affixed with great detail, looking to be the work of a true master. Both vases do have some small repairs, looking to be mostly to the upper portions, though they look to be well done. Both vases do have some small pocks on them, looking to be right on the intersection of some of the crackles.
One of the two vases also has a blue residue on the lower portion, which looks like it could have possibly been a repair that was just never cleaned up. Both are done by the same craftsman, with the same signature present on the undersides of the vases.
The size and overall shape looks to be the same, with the detailed dragons and other decorative additions look to be from the same casting mold, as their appearance is very similar, looking to be basically the same. Both pieces measure close to 21 3/4 inches tall, measured from the base up to the upper edge of the mouth. Overall, this is an excellent set of vases from an established style in China, but also made from a craftsman who is willing to put their name on their pieces, and with a story of acquisition to bring it all together..................
