Pair of antique metal bookends. Europe, likely France, circa 1940. This is a PRETTY and ANTIQUE PAIR of metal bookends, depicting a lion in an attack pose.

Very high quality details, white metal (spelter), patinated in brown color patina. Both are stamped from the back with letters J. B and number 1619 (see photos). Please see photos carefully to admire the beauty of the work.

H : 6 inches (15 cm). W : 6.75 inches (17 cm). Depth : 3.5 inches (9 cm). Weight : 5 lbs 12 oz (2.6 kgs) for the pair.

I cleaned, waxed the metal. Minor discoloration to the patina, consistent with age and use. Very rich brown color patina with some copper color patina. Metal well preserved (no dents or any damage). Clean and ready to be placed.
