FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a fine pair of French hand-painted vases, in the Aesthetic style, c. The vases are gilt-mounted, and completely hand-painted, featuring fishermen and traders on the beach front of an ancient city. The style is evidenced by the unique Persian blue border design. Each vase is marked St. Denis (France), and numbered 860. They measure 12.5" tall, and 8.75" wide.

This is an uncommon design that replaced the prior Victorian-era designs, and was used in Europe for a brief time, being replaced with Art Nouveau styled pieces. Both vases are in excellent condition, complete, and free of chips, cracks, or restorations. There is age-typical crazing to the glaze (as shown). This quote is for the Continental U.
