Pair Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Garlic-Shaped Vases Signed With Kangxi Mark
A wonderful pair of Chinese Kangxi famille verte garlic shaped vases. The Qing dynasty Emperor Kangxi reigned from 1661 to 1722 making him one of the longest reigning emperors in history. The emperor decree was that all famille verte and blue and white porcelains be used for his imperial court and palaces. These vases are beautifully adorned many symbols that represent the Kangxi reign. Kangxi porcelain is known for having a blue underglaze reign mark within a double circle which is found on these vases. The vases each weigh approximately 3 pounds and measures approximately 10.5 inches in height and 6.5 inches in diameter. Upon close examination you will notice that the paste, the decorations, underglaze blue mark, the weight, etc are all known characteristics of the Kangxi period.
