A pair of intaglio cut cordial bottles with handles depicting a Dutch town. Ornate continental silver flip-top lids and silver boarders around both the neck and bottom. A young boy is on one lid and a young girl is on the other.

Each ovoid carafe is engraved with Dutch buildings and windmills in a landscape. There is a side loop handle with a silver sleeve covering the lower section of each jug. The lower section is pierced and embossed with further landscapes and figures. The 800 silver neck mount and hinged lid are decorated with putti, scrolls and a Sailor as it's final. The original silver mounted ground glass internal stopper is in each jug.

Each jug is signed with the maker's mark and 800. The maker is Schleissner & Sohne, who was founded in the early 19th century, and became one of the foremost silversmiths of Hanau, Germany. The maker exhibited their products of active country Dutch and Germany life in the 1893 Columbian Fair in Chicago. Great for international wines, and a great home decoration for your collection.
