Here is a gorgeous pair of highly collectible antique bookends signed by "GREGORY ALLEN". These solid bronze bookends are in excellent condition. Atop the 1/4 tall base, sits a stern looking Indian smoking his long pipe. His long braids rest on either shoulder and an single feather adorns his hair.
A medallion surrounded with bear claws hangs from his neck. The intricate detail paid to his shirt, facial features, braids, feather, and necklace is amazingly beautiful. Each bookend measures 5 1/2" tall, 4 5/8" wide, 2 1/2 deep, and weighs just over 2 1/2 pounds. The bottom of each base is still covered with aged green felt. There are no breaks, cracks, or dings in either bookend.
Some minor wear from age. Signed near the Indian's right hand on each bookend, it states, "GREGORY ALLEN". Imprinted on the lower back of each bookend is, "BRONZE 9693". These rare works of art will complement an existing collection or will show extremely well on their own. Thank you for your interest in these extraordinary'ALLEN' BRONZE bookends.
