Antique Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Lamp Signed Pair
They are both in good condition, wear commensurate with age. Each lamp has a number assigned to it so if you need additional information please refer to the number.
Each lamp is wired with a cloth period cord and an old socket. Signed with the Pittsburgh logo P. Please view all the pictures as they are part of the description.
The reverse painted shade has cascading lavender wisteria flowers surrounded with green leaves. The colors are clean and crisp and the flowers are so life like. This lamp does not come around on the market very often. The base is adjustable and is set at 17 in the listing.
It is original to the shade and is equipped with a single Arrow pull chain socket. The base has the Balarian finish and the thumb screws are all marked "Pilabrasco". The shade has a small chip, shown in one of the pictures.
It is on the inside and does not take away from the beauty of this lamp. I have listed a picture of this lamp from the reference book Better Electric Lamps of the 20's and 30's. Lamp 178 is reverse painted on a 10 shade with a winter scene with pine trees and hard wood surrounded with snow. The colors are outstanding, they just pop.
The 18 tall base is highly detailed and has a Antique Gold painted finish. It is equipped with a single Arrow pull chain socket with the porcelain interiors. He thumb screws are all marked "Pilabrasco". Lamp 183 is exactly the same as Lamp 178.
