Marygold was a nom de plume for an English artist, Marion Crowe, who was born in 1896 d. She was an extremely popular "art deco" artist, specializing in every aspect of romanticism.
Her work was incredibly popular in the 1930's and was used for a wide variety of product including decorative tins, jigsaw puzzles, greeting cards, calendars and decorative boxes for handkerchiefs, chocolates, etc. This listing is for a matching pair of her most prized works: "Twilight" and "Narcissus" in simple but antique wood frames. The frames need a little touch-up but are in very solid condition for their age. Each piece is 8 1/4" x 20 1/4".
