Antique Pair of 19th C. American Portrait Oil Paintings Signed L. For sale we have a fantastic pair of antique American portraits, each signed L. These portraits are oil on artist board and each is inscribed on the reverse being identified as descendants of Judge Richard Potts and Eleanor Murdoch Potts. They are in matching original oval frames. The paintings are in very good condition, as are the frames with only minor losses, with wear consistent with their age and use. From the inscription on the backs, they appear to have some relationship to the famous Judge Potts from Frederick County, Maryland, along with Eleanor Murdoch Potts (late 1700's). When digging further into family records, there is also a mention of the Harris family member. Sight size: 10" tall x 7.75" wide.
