Antique Pair of 1966 EDGAR ALLEN POE & SHAKESPEAR Bookends Signed JAKE KOSER

  
THIS IS INDEED A VERY RARE SET OF BOOKENDS made by artist JAKE KOSER 1900 - 1975. This set features EDGAR ALLEN POE & WILLIAM SHAKESPEAR HARD AT WORK AT THEIR DESK. Sort of neat EDGAR ALLEN has his Raven at his side on the chair. Also note Jake Koser signed the back of Poe's chair as well. It looks like several type of metals may of been used in the casting of these figures.

They have no magnetic properties and the weight seems heavy for their size. But I can also see silver spots. Most of the casting like the figures are heavier then aluminum.

The window and shadow box may be a aluminum alloy? JAKE KOSER has historical metal work of President Lincoln in the Indiana State Museum. This American artist specialized in engravings and metal work of historical figures, he also did a lot of work from the civil war era. JAKE KOSER was BORNED 1900 and passed in 1975.
