Antique Dated 1806 John Livingstone Lady & Gentleman Oil On Canvas Portraits

  
Artist John Livingstone depicts a Well to-do Gentleman and his Lady. These English portraits were painted some 210 years ago. The artist has signed his name on the reverse of the canvas. Most definitely, the portraits exhibit age which makes them so appealing. Both canvases are quite stable, however the gent portrait does have some damage as shown. The new owner may have more experience than I with repair, therefore it will be left as is. Both canvases exhibit crazing as one would expect of art this age. Both have darkened over the years most likely a combination of age, dirt and smoke. Both have wonderful plank frames with detail that by every measure appear to be original. Overall, an exceptional pair for people who enjoy decorating with early 19th Century artwork. Please look at photos closely as they are part of the description.
