1920's 2 Antique French Original Oil Paintings Signed Tropical Seas Night Scenes

  
Two antique, romanticized tropical sceneries painted to make people dream of unknown destinations. Who wouldn't want to visit these foreign and exotic places?

Dreamy, unique and highly decorative. These two original oil paintings have been sourced in France.

The painting featuring the sailboat is signed by the artist, Maacil, in the lower left corner. The paintings are undated but most likely date from the beginning of the 1900s. One-off shapes and lovely wooden framings (custom framed - one painting is slightly higher than the other), these antique paintings should definitely be hung together as a pair for maximum impact.

The paintings have not been cleaned, I leave that decision up to the new owner. Age has left the paintings with a lovely but dark patina.

Cleaning the paintings would definitely brighten the colors. Some minor signs of wear due to age. One scratch in the boat painting's lower section and one in the upper section of the palm tree painting (see photos). The wooden frames are in good vintage condition. Dimension: height 35.5 cm/ 14", width 14.5 cm/ 5 3/4", depth 1 cm/ 1/2.
