Stunning Antique Pair JAPANESE SAMURAI Woodcuts Beautiful Signed
This handsome pair have plenty of written detail - unfortunately we can't translate any of it, but the lettering in the cartouche on the right hand side of each picture is the same on each one - possibly an artist signature. They sit well together, both have the same muted colour ways of blues, corals, greys and blacks, with fantastic detailing and great expression to the characters. These woodcuts are a little aged in small areas. These appear to be on Paper, we're not sure - there's some spotting, and a couple of tiny holes. This certainly doesn't t detract from this fine pair of paintings. Both are glazed and mounted then framed - both frames in good condition and ready to hang.
