This pair of unusual vases are of slim bulbous form with wavy rims. They are both hand-painted with a landscape scene overlapped with a large cobweb.
The images are in shades of grey upon a white ground. The vases are both signed by the artist. The signatures are difficult to make out but look like M Kilo. They are both imprinted with the makers mark consisting of the letters G & H entwined below a sunrise with DEP below.
They also have the same marks to the bases this time in green ink without the DEP below. One has an X etched into the base. Both vases have small purpose made holes to the centre of the webs and to the rims. For what purpose we cannot say. Each vase measures 11.5cm (4 ½ inches) wide, 7cm (2 ¾ inches) deep and 12cm (4 ¾ inches) in height. The vases are both in a beautiful condition with no cracks, chips or other damage. There is a tiny bit of wear around the edges of the holes on the rims.
