Beautiful pair of original bronze Meiji bottleneck vases standing 10 3/4 tall. Made in Japan in 19th or very early 20th century, they have a gorgeous deep red and black marbled patina. I photographed these in varying light settings because the patina made them difficult to show. They really are quite beautiful and impressive pieces.

It is truly an instance where the pictures do not do them justice. Each vase features a complementary. And masterfully crafted dragon entwined around the englongated necks. Each is signed underfoot with two character mark.

Condition: vases are from a clean, smoke free home of a long time Asian antiquities collector. They have minor dust from being proudly displayed but otherwise present beautifully. The other vase has an old repair where one of the dragons broke loose and was reattached behind the tip of the tail. I photographed this repair so please see pictures.

The vases present well, but the repair is obvious to the one vase. I do not repair or alter my antiques before I find them new homes.
