This is a heavenly, hard to find pair of vintage Art Deco signed Nuart nude flapper girl bookends. Each has a rectangular base with stepped Art Deco detailing.

Perched nimbly on each base is a nude figure of a woman with flapper girl bobbed finger-wave hair, a demure kneeling pose, and a soft hand rested on her shoulder across her breast. The figures are warm and evocative, imbued with a sense of breath and intimacy. This is the signature of the Nuart figurative work, experts in creating a warm, human energy with their metal sculpture work. The bookends are painted mixed metal. They are a gorgeous pale sage green, somewhere between celadon and chartreuse in tone with a supple, satiny finish. These collectible bookends are in excellent vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. As is visible in the photographs, one of the bookends has minor paint loss throughout. Its partner has far less significant paint loss, and the amazing vintage integrity of the pair is. Each is signed by Nuart on the base as pictured. They measure 3 3/8 inches wide at the base, 3 inches deep, and 6 1/2 inches tall in total.
